Deschutes River

In mid-October, Central Oregonians will once more come collectively as a group, decided to do one thing concerning the ongoing seasonal streamflow challenges dealing with the higher Deschutes River with what’s turn out to be a conventional fall fish rescue.

Every fall, streamflows within the Higher Deschutes from Wickiup Reservoir to Bend are lowered to refill reservoirs for the next irrigation season.

A collaborative fish rescue planning effort is at present underway involving eight irrigation districts, the Deschutes River Conservancy, the Bend Chapter of Trout Limitless, the Coalition for the Deschutes and dozens of volunteers from the group.
