California State Parks not too long ago introduced the completion of the elimination of the Benbow Dam, which is the second largest concrete construction to be eliminated in California.

The elimination of the dam, inbuilt 1931 on the Eel River, will assist the migration of salmon and restore the habitat for different species.

“The elimination of Benbow Dam strikes us nearer to reversing the alarming decline of West Coast fall-run Chinook, Coho salmon, and summer-run steelhead by restoring entry to a further 96 miles of prime habitat alongside the Eel River,” stated Pat Montanio, director of the workplace of habitat conservation in NOAA Fisheries, in a information launch.
